Ashley Nyce
Director of Training
Ashley Nyce joined the Massachusetts Law Reform Institute in 2024 as Director of Training. Prior to joining MLRI, Ashley was a Visiting Professor of Law at Boston College Law School where she founded and directed the Child Health and Education Law Clinic, taught in the Civil Litigation Clinic, and facilitated pedagogy workshops for experiential faculty. Before joining Boston College, Ashley was a supervising attorney and clinical teaching fellow at Georgetown University Law Center where she taught and supervised law and medical students in the Health Justice Alliance Law Clinic, a medical-legal partnership providing interdisciplinary advocacy for children and families facing legal barriers that negatively impact health and well-being. Previously, Ashley served as coordinating attorney in the Special Education Unit at the New York Legal Assistance Group, where she advocated on behalf of students with disabilities attending traditional public and charter schools in New York City, and as a Guardian ad Litem at the Children’s Law Center in Washington, D.C. where she provided comprehensive representation for children in D.C.’s abuse and neglect system. Prior to law school, Ashley taught third grade at a public charter school in Detroit, Michigan. Ashley received her J.D. from the University of Michigan Law School, her LL.M. from Georgetown University Law Center, her M.A. in Education from the University of Michigan Graduate School of Education, and her B.A. from the University of California, Los Angeles.
