Marlena joined MLRI in February 2023. She previously served as Communications Associate at the Massachusetts Legal Assistance Corporation (MLAC). There, she worked on three websites and helped develop and execute a communications strategy for MLAC's annual legislative campaign to secure state funding for civil legal aid. Marlena's other previous roles include development and communications in higher education and at an arts education nonprofit. Marlena holds a Bachelor of Arts from Wellesley College, where she majored in Latin American Studies and minored in Art History. She earned a Graduate Certificate in Marketing Management and Digital Strategy from the Harvard Extension School. Marlena is excited to manage MassLegalHelp's redesign and socialize it among different audiences. Marlena lives in Somerville, where she is involved in local mutual aid and housing justice groups.
