Tasmiah Ahmad
Economic Justice Policy Advocate
Tasmiah joined MLRI as an Economic Justice Policy Advocate in October 2024. She is deeply passionate about driving transformative systems change, centering her career and volunteer efforts on serving and uplifting vulnerable communities.
Prior to joining MLRI, Tasmiah worked at the Children’s League of Massachusetts (CLM) and the New York State Senate. As the Communications and Public Policy Specialist at CLM, Tasmiah shaped and advanced public policy initiatives impacting children, transition age youth, and families involved in the state’s child welfare system, developed strategic communications, and mobilized CLM’s members in advocacy efforts. At the New York State Senate, Tasmiah served as an External Relations Associate, where she conducted policy research and fostered collaboration with key stakeholders across community organizations and the federal, state, and city government level.
Tasmiah holds a B.A. in Public Policy and Law with a minor in Chinese from Trinity College. Born and raised in Massachusetts, Tasmiah enjoys making music and running along the Charles River.
