Aron Thorn

MA Legal Aid Website Project Attorney
617-357-0700 ext 342

Aron joined the Websites Project at MLRI as a Project Attorney in November 2025.

Aron began his legal career in immigration, as a Law Clerk at the Port Isabel Service Processing Center in Los Fresnos, Texas. Following his clerkship, Aron  joined the County of Hidalgo, Texas as an Assistant County Attorney. There, his practice was varied, and included advising county officials on topics such as employment, health, and open government law. He is particularly proud of his work on a public-private partnership that brought street lighting to low income, rural subdivisions throughout the county.

Aron was a legal volunteer in the summer of 2018 when the federal government began separating immigrant families at a large scale. This experience drove him to advocate for the rights of immigrants full time, and he joined the Texas Civil Rights Project as a Staff Attorney soon after. At TCRP, Aron litigated a wide variety of civil and human rights cases at the federal and State level, advocating for individuals migrating through Texas, as well as those who call the state home. Throughout his career, he has focused on ways to expand access to justice for as many people as possible, including creating wide-reaching Know Your Rights materials designed to demystify the law in a fast-paced and changing legal landscape.

Born and raised in Pennsylvania, Aron holds a Bachelors of Arts in Social Psychology from Lehigh University in Bethlehem, Pennsylvania. He obtained his Juris Doctor in 2014 from the Maurice A. Deane School of Law at Hofstra University, where he was a fellow for LGBTQIA rights. He is an avid tabletop gamer, and enjoys reading and a great cup of coffee.
