Carmela Belizaire joins MLRI as the Executive Assistant. She is an operations professional with experience spanning program management, civic leadership, research, and operations. Her career began at Planned Parenthood of Massachusetts, where she assessed state approaches to abortion care in the wake of the COVID-19 pandemic. With a background in state-level Title V Maternal and Child Health Services Block Grant implementation, Carmela focuses on program operations that meet the needs of communities and support their well-being. She also contributes to local health and civic initiatives through board, steering committee, and advocacy roles. Carmela is a graduate of Brandeis University and the Heller School for Social Policy and Management. She serves on the Codman Square Neighborhood Council Board.
