Rachel Nili

Rachel Nili joined MLRI as the Family & Child Wellbeing Attorney in 2026.  Prior to joining MLRI, Rachel worked for the Wisconsin Department of Children and Families, where she served as an attorney in the Office of Legal Counsel.  In that role, Rachel provided legal advice to the agency’s Division of Safety and Permanence on policy and legislation to strengthen and improve services and outcomes for children and families.  From 2010 to 2016, as an attorney for Children’s Rights, Rachel litigated institutional reform lawsuits against state systems on behalf of children in foster care in Massachusetts and other states.  From 2007 to 2010, she worked as a litigation associate at Goulston & Storrs in Boston, where she focused on complex litigation, real estate litigation, and representation of government entities and pro bono clients.  Rachel clerked for Massachusetts Supreme Judicial Court Justice Martha B. Sosman after graduating from law school.

Rachel graduated from Harvard College in 2003 and earned her J.D. from the University of Pennsylvania School of Law in 2006.
