Richard Weng

Immigration Intern

Richard is a fourth-year Political Science and International Affairs student with double minors in Global Asian Studies and Law & Public Policy at Northeastern University. Throughout his undergraduate courses and time spent traveling abroad, he specialized in studying how law, culture, and society influence the representation of vulnerable communities on both the domestic and international stages. His passion to study such topics also stems from his identity as a first-generation Chinese American, where the deteriorating socio-political relations between his two home countries have emboldened him to research and write for others in order to inform, educate, and advocate. While interning at MLRI this fall, he will also be a research assistant for two of his professors, studying how exposure to tourism can alter political opinions.
